PraiseMe 1.1.0: Now on Android, Plus Recurring Tasks, Templates, and More

By Dmytro Y.

Six weeks ago we launched on the App Store. Since then we've been reading every bit of feedback, fixing what annoyed us in our own family's daily use, and building the things you asked for. Version 1.1.0 is out now, and it's the biggest update yet.

PraiseMe is now on Android

This is the one we're most excited about. PraiseMe started as an iPhone/iPad app because that's what our family uses, but plenty of families don't. Now everyone can join — Android phones and tablets, the same core PraiseMe experience as iOS, including subscriptions through Google Play.

Recurring tasks

The single most-requested feature. Chores like "make your bed" or "practice piano" don't need to be added fresh every day anymore — set a task to repeat on the days you choose, give it an optional end date, and it just shows up when it's due. Finished recurring tasks move to an archive so your active list stays clean, and one-time and recurring tasks now live in clearly separate forms instead of one confusing screen trying to do both.

Task templates

If you've ever re-typed "Take out the trash — 5 pts" for the tenth time, this one's for you. Save any task as a reusable template and add it again in a couple of taps — no retyping, no reinventing the wheel every week.

PraiseMe speaks your language, and knows your time zone

You can now pick your language right from the sign-in and create-family screens, instead of digging through settings after the fact. And a new time zone selector in Family Settings means due dates and reminders land at the right local time for your family — no more notifications firing at odd hours because a server somewhere assumed the wrong time zone.

A built-in Help section

Not everything is obvious the first time you open an app. We added a Help section right inside PraiseMe with a full manual, so answers to "how do I..." questions are a couple of taps away instead of a message to us.

A leveling bug, fixed

We found and fixed a bug where a kid's level was calculated from their current point balance instead of everything they'd ever earned. That meant spending points on a reward could actually knock a kid back down a level — which is exactly the opposite of what a reward system should do. Levels now track lifetime praise earned, the way they were always meant to.

Smoother day to day

A long list of smaller things got fixed too: ad-related glitches around app cold starts, keyboard behavior on task and payout forms, a clearer rejection reason when a kid's task gets sent back, a badge on the parent dashboard for pending praise requests, and a fix for parents who need to leave a family or remove their account. Small stuff, but it's the small stuff that makes an app feel right.

Thank you

Every one of these came from actually using PraiseMe with our own three boys, or from feedback you sent us. Keep it coming — it's the fastest way to make this better for every family using it.
