Kid Mode Basics
Kid Mode is a simplified, always-ad-free experience designed for kids to use on their own, once a parent has activated their device (see Adding and Managing Kids).
What a kid can do
- Dashboard — see their current point balance, level, and what's coming up.
- Tasks — split into To Do and History tabs. To Do pins everything needing action — due today, overdue, or awaiting a parent's review — in a Needs Attention section at the top, followed by the rest of the week's tasks by day. History shows everything else.
- Request Praise — describe something good they did and suggest a point amount, for a parent to review (see Praise Requests).
- Goals — track progress toward something they're saving points for, and contribute to it (see Setting and Tracking Goals).
- Rewards — browse the family's reward catalog and redeem points for one (see Requesting and Approving Payouts).
- History — see a timeline of points earned and spent.
- Settings — change the app's language, or log out if the device is shared between kids.
What a kid can't do
Everything a kid does — completing a task, redeeming a reward, requesting praise — goes into a pending state until a parent reviews and approves it. Kids never award themselves points directly, and Kid Mode never shows ads, regardless of the family's subscription status.
