Due Dates and Reminders

Setting a due date

  1. When creating or editing a task, turn on Due Date and pick a date.
  2. Optionally, also set a due time — this makes the task overdue at that exact time on the due date, not just at the end of the day.

Setting a reminder

Once a task has a due time, you can also set a reminder:

  1. Choose how many minutes before the due time you want to be notified (e.g. 30 minutes before).
  2. PraiseMe sends a push notification to the kid's device at that time.

A reminder always requires a due time — you can't set a reminder on a task that's only due "today" with no specific time.

Time zones

Due times are interpreted in your family's time zone, which is set automatically from your device when the family is created and can be changed in Family Settings. This keeps due times and reminders firing at the right local time even if a parent and a kid are travelling in different time zones.
